Abstract:
From a few years ago, using reverse osmosis in water refinery and desalination, in order to provide clean water for necessary requirements has been considered as a common method. In the current study, the reverse osmosis, in the water refinery process of Miyaneh steel factory (northwest of Iran) has been investigated. In order to consider the designed reverse osmosis efficiency in factory, ROSA numerical and analytical software, has been utilized. The results indicated that in the raw water input which has been refined and concentrated, on average, the density of Nitrate for groundwater is about 30% of its value in surface supply water. Also, the results showed that the efficiency for removing of raw water contaminants which has been carried out by reverse osmosis is about 90% to 95% and only the efficiency of removing Nitrate is about 75%. So, it demonstrates that the reverse osmosis process should be used to remove little Nitrate in compression with other contaminates. It has been indicated that the values of contaminates in concentrated water is about four times more than their values in raw water input and it shows the ability of reverse osmosis process in the water refinery of raw water input.
